Malin Head and North Inishowen
Discover the geology, ecology, archaeology and mythology of this ancient peninsula in the company of a qualified environmental scientist and landscape interpreter.
Throughout this tour you will also explore and learn about several Celtic Era - Fairy Forts, Fairy Trees and Sacred Wells.
Starting from Buncrana or Derry your first stop is the mysterious Grianan Aileach " Temple of the Sun" a large prehistoric stone structure, located on a hilltop that provides panoramic views of Inishowen, Derry City and beyond.
Travelling north along the scenic shores of Lough Swilly to Buncrana we move through the Inishowen Hills to Carndonagh. We then travel along the beautiful Trawbreaga Bay where you will hear stories of the Bay`s fascinating ecology, coastal geology and folklore.
On reaching Malin Head, " Ireland`s most northern point" you will learn about the area`s ancient geology and view this windswept headland`s spectacular cliffs and hear about the prehistoric mythology that evolved around this fascinating stretch cliffs. Surprisingly you will also discover Malin Head`s primeval links to North America and see examples of this headland`s Sub - Artic plants.
Leaving Malin Head, we travel back to Derry or Buncrana via Inishowen`s largest area of upland bog and lakes to discover a number of hidden features that add to the understanding of this landscape`s archaeological history and folklore.
Discover the origins of Halloween (Samhain) in the Celtic archaeological sites and landscapes of the Foyle Uplands. On this unique day tour you will hear dark stories of cashels, sacred trees, votive wells, primeval votive habitats and their unusual plants.

Seamus Heaney`s Bogland and
Bog People Poetry - an Exploration.
The discovery of Tollund Man in a Danish bog in the 1950s had a major influence on Seamus Heaney`s early poetry. Because of his Tollund Man poem and other bog inspired works Heaney became recognised as Ireland`s wordsmith of bogs, as dark mysterious places that contain numerous cultural references to ancient Ireland.
In this captivating experience that blends literary references and bog science you will discover how these ancient places so inspired the poetic imagination of Ireland`s most recent Noble Literature Laureate.

Halloween Origins Tour ---- Out of Derry City
This fascinating experience explores an ancient and mysterious Celtic Rain Forest where the tree and plant species that grow there have connections with J K Rowling`s Harry Potter stories.
